Earlier today it appeared Nicodemo Piccolo busted but it turns
out he just moved tables to the corner and survived having an extremely
short stack.
Well now he’s really out.
Piazza Giorgio made a standard bet and a marked cards player in late position
decided to through his last 5,000 chips into the pot. Piccolo looked
down at his cards and made the decision to follow suit and throw his
last 11,000 in the pot.
Giorgio, having both players easily covered, made the call. The players revealed their cards:
Giorgio: Q♥ Q♦
LP player: 9♦ 8♣
Piccolo: A♥ A♠
Piccolo appeared headed for the sweet triple up but the poker gods had other ideas.
The flop came K♣ Q♣ Q♠
and Piccolo had his opponents nearly drawing dead with quad queens. The
turn and river bricked and that sent Piccolo and the other player
packing while Giorgio raked in the huge pot.
We’ll officially have a new winner here at the Battle of Malta.
Blinds are now 800/1,600 with a 200 ante.
